This was a very very tiny water color painting I did of my Aunt Larena. It’s done in watercolor because I initially did not have any paint other than water color at home. My series was initially supposed to be of black people displaying acts of love but has since turned into me painting people that I love. My Aunt is battling breast cancer and that is why the background is in pink to symbolize breast cancer. Unfortunately breast cancer on average affects African American and Hispanic women die from breast cancer at a much higher rate than white women. I wanted to pint her like this because this is the only picture she’d let me use and it was were she felt most confident.
