So I have made and sketched out the whole plot that will take place during my zine, still following Annabel Lee. It took some time to pick out important parts and how I wanted to portray the tone of the poem. I'm going to add an element of "darkness" throughout to try and follow the feeling of Edgar Alan Poe's work. I hope I can make it happen like I want!

From Seth-- I'm really enjoying the new sketches, especially the compositions. Have you considered using glazes? Maybe some get neutral glazes to add the mood and sensibility that you're going for. A glaze is a thin layer of color that can be applied to the entire page. You can have a rag handy to wipe away areas with too much color or value. Did you get a chance to listen to the Nick Cave version of Annabel Lee? Looking forward to seeing how this comes together. You may want to consider formatting everything in the end (Look at Milca's second post and my how-to videos). Also, be sure to put in the full 8-9 hours per week.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Seth, the compositions are great. I love how it almost looks like a comic with the zoomed in face and the view of the guy walking and the environment around him. Very interested.
