These are the two pieces I've made so far. I did the first one with colored pencils and the second one with gouache. I'm really enjoying making smaller pieces for this project because it allows me to get my different ideas out without spending so much time on one piece. the first one is a representation of how I feel like I can't connect with the people around me sometimes. The second one shows the desert (one of my fav landscapes) with the different colors that I find exciting.
From Seth-- Fantastic beginning! I'm very curious to see other ways you will express the connection/alienation idea. Maybe trying facial expressions or body language? There's an artist you may like that works with this idea named Jackie Milad. Look up her early work. It's about the awkwardness of social interactions and feelings of alienation.
