For some reason these got put in the opposite order from how I wanted them but that's okay. These are a few pages of my zine that I have been working on. The "Congratulations" page is the title page. In case you can't tell, it's a tribute to what's going on right now and the narrative is depicting how seniors are probably feeling. I want the narrative to show how us seniors felt at the beginning of the semester vs how things are going now. I'm using photos I've taken from around campus and am digitally painting over them. I'm going for a cartoonish style. The photo of Lynn is not done yet. As you can see I have only digitally painted the bottom half. The photo of the quad will probably be a page towards the middle/end of the zine. I'm excited for what I'm planning for the last page. Stay tuned for it.

I really like how the image of the quad looks. Did you draw it by hand?
ReplyDeleteFrom Seth-- love this idea, Maya. Enjoying how playfully stylized everything is becoming and the contrast to the sentiment you must be feeling about this experience and graduation. Excited to see it progress. One suggestion-- in respect to the brushwork to the quad image, you may want the thicker strokes in the foreground and the scale to diminish as you move back in space... (mathematical perspective) you also may want to employ some atmospheric perspective (saturation diminishes in the distance and colors cool in the distance).
