This is my beginning I was thinking about digitally coloring rappers and creating a zine on the lines or verses they have that relate to drugs/ drug use
From Seth-- Fantastic beginning, Andrew! This is a great example of digital painting over a photo reference but letting the brushwork and your "hand" have a prominent role in the style of representation. Don't feel like you have to "clean" everything up with tight brushwork everywhere. I love the loose and the tightly rendered areas working together. Maybe the brushwork could change based on the person being depicted?
Any thoughts about the negative space?
I'm very happy with this start. You're getting better and better with the software. Great work.
